It is with deep sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of Father Bogdan Palka SDS at his home in St Mary Magdalene’s Church, Perth, on Saturday, 18th May 2024.
A spokesperson for the Diocese of Dunkeld expressed great shock on hearing of the death of Fr. Bogdan.
“On behalf of Canon Kevin Golden, and the priests and the people of the Diocese of Dunkeld, our heartfelt prayers and sympathy go out to his family, especially to his sister Elżbieta in Poland, as well as to the members of the Society of the Divine Saviour (SDS) whose missionary priests, like Fr Bogdan, do great work around the world.”
“To his parishioners at St Mary Magdalene’s Church in Perth, in particular Deacon Krzysztof Jablonski and the Polish Community who worked so closely with him, we share their great loss and join with them as they pray for the repose of his soul.”
Fr Bogdan was called to serve in Perth in 2014, a community with strong traditional ties to his homeland. Prior to coming to Scotland he had carried out mission work in Europe and in the USA.
Details of Fr Bogdan’s funeral arrangements will be announced later.
